I didn't have much time the past weeks for blogging due to celebrations, uni, social life etc. And, to be honest, I wasn't that inspired to write something here either. Maybe this whole embedding-musicvideos-into-websites-should-be-illegal-thing forces me to be a bit more creative in writing posts. No nice videos anymore to hide the fact that I should put more content into my entries here, I guess. But: I still got all those very nice photos to fill some space. Thanks heaven.

So, up next will be some pictures of lovely rainbow cupcakes which I recently made. Soon.

christmas was better

Heute hat dieser Blog die Marke von 6000 Klicks erreicht - in seinem zweiten Jahr! Das finde ich ziemlich unglaublich, auch wenn manch alteingesessener Blogger jetzt wahrscheinlich die Nase rümpft aufgrund von soviel Anfängereuphorie. 

Des Weiteren: Ich hoffe, ihr hattet alle schöne Weihnachtstage, habt tolle Geschenke bekommen (TOP GEAR STAFFEL 1O!!!) und richtig gutes Essen genossen. That's what it's all about, isn't it?

Da Weihnachten jetzt nun einmal vorbei ist, hier ein Lied, das die Nostalgie für Weihnachten aufrechterhält: "Christmas was better in the 80s" von den Futureheads (ist euch schon einmal aufgefallen, wie Futureheads-lastig dieser Blog allmählich wird?).

Even if I don't post that much on this site from time to time, I frequently stop by my Blogger dashbord to read the latest entries of my favourite blogs.
Currently I enjoy following DIAMOND CANOPY, a blog by London based Winnie, who writes pleasently about her passion for Asian food, clothing and various other topics.
Another site I can recommend is THE PET FANCLUB, run by the editor in chief of Indie Magazine, who presents you interesting insights of press life and pictures of cute kittens.
KRISATOMIC is a blog written by a graphic designer and photographer from beautiful Brighton who I stumbled upon because of chronic bitchface (when you search her site for it, you will understand what's meant by that). You should also definitely check out the homepage she set up for the pictures she took at this year's fashion weeks. I'm normally not into that stuff, but you don't have to know much about fashion to find her pictures pretty.
There are a few more blogs that I read regulary (for example SCOUTING NEW YORK), but these are the main ones I enjoy at the moment.

Ein Jahr ist rum! Hatmantöne gehört nun offiziell dem Club der Einjährigen an! Ich freue mich über eure zahlreichen Klicks und werde diesen denkwürdigen Tag mit... Fernseh-Gucken feiern. Und vielleicht ein bisschen Abwasch.

plenty of time

6 days without any exams - unbelievable. Finally time to blog again (or read a book or watch a movie - no, wait, I also did that when I was busy). And I had time to change the design of my blog, which I did probably about 100 times this year. Maybe this template will stay a bit longer.
There are some interesting topics coming up: Likely something about FIGHT CLUB, which I will end reading soon and finally watch the movie in a few days. And maybe a bit about ANONYMOUS, which I saw last weekend. Furthermore, it's Christmas Time! And if that isn't worth a few lines, I don't know what is.

statistically speaking

Alright. I've been looking at my blog's statistics recently and it seems as if it would be largely frequented by people from the U.S. Interesting. That's maybe the same thing those people think when they have a look at my posts, just to switch to another blog in the next second, because they don't understand any German. That's sad. 'Cause, if you expended the effort to open this webpage, you should get something to read in exchange (I mean, something you understand without making a language course).
That's the reason why I am going to make this a bilingual blog. I am probably not going to translate every post from German to English. But I will write many of the posts in English.

Ich liebe New York. Also, ich war noch nie da. Aber trotzdem. Ich liebe das New York, wie es in Serien und in Filmen gezeigt wird, ich liebe das Essen, das mit der Stadt assoziiert wird und die Bücher, die über sie geschrieben wurden. Man könnte es eine Obsession nennen, aber das klingt doch etwas negativ. Nennen wir es Begeisterung. Ich finde auch nicht alles gut, mit dem New York vermarktet wird. Aber doch einiges. Bevor ich hier aber jetzt anfange aufzuzählen, was man in Bezug auf New York City alles so serien- und filmtechnisch gucken kann und welche Bücher zu diesem Thema lesenswert sind und übermorgen noch hier sitze, möchte ich euch lieber auf einen anderen Blog hinweisen, der Scouting NY heißt. Auf der Website stellt ein Film Location Scout, also jemand, der geeignete Drehorte für Filme sucht, Fotos seiner Streifzügen durch New York vor. Die Gebäude, die er festhält, sind immer interessant, auf ihre Art geheimnisvoll und wirken manchmal wie aus der Zeit gefallen. Es gibt sogar eine Rubrik namens "New York, You've Changed", in der Standbilder aus Filmen wie "Ghostbusters" mit heutigen Fotos der Standorte einander gegenüber gestellt werden.
