listen to this: generationals

I first came across the band Generationals while watching Suits, this new lawyer-series (with which I definitely have to catch up soon). Their song "When they fight, they fight" was featured in one of the episodes and I liked it immediately. Nice to sing along to, nice to dance to. "Con Law", their debut album offers even more and after searching for them on Spotifiy, I completely fell in love with "Put a light on" which appeared on the Generationals most recent album, "Heza". Somehow light-hearted, motivational, relaxed, but also with potential to shake everything out to the sound of it (and sing as loud as you like to).

learning the ropes

Inbetween sitting the last exam and packing my bags, I just want to show a sign of life on this blog. One thing that makes sitting inside for hours and writing endless summaries definitely easier is music. Here's my playlist for this semester's learning marathon:

Es ist Samstag, es regnet und ihr habt bestimmt nichts zu tun. Glücklicherweise gibt es etwas, das euch aus dieser Misere befreien kann: Queens of the Stone Age haben das Konzert, das sie gestern in Los Angeles gespielt und live im Internet übertragen haben, jetzt online gestellt. Endlich sind sie wieder da. Ein Vorgeschmack auf das im Juni erscheinende Album "...Like Clockwork" und Songs vorheriger Alben - pure QOTSA-goodness. ENJOY.

 Ihr habt vielleicht davon gehört, dass aktuell untersucht wird, ob es überhaupt rechtens ist, Musikvideos von YouTube in Websites einzubetten. Deshalb präsentiere ich euch hier einen Link zum dieswöchigen Saturday's Song. 
Es handelt sich bei "Save Your Soul" um ein Lied, das meiner Meinung nach sehr dem Stil von Cullums letzen Alben entspricht. Eine schöne Variation dabei ist jedoch die Begleitung durch die erweiterte Band. Enjoy!
